Children & Teens

Many teens and adolescents struggle with mental health issues, this can be from bullying, peer pressure to issues with suicide and self-harm. This can also be extremely distressing for parents who may often be at a loss as to how to help them. Finding services can be difficult in regional areas such as Albury Wodonga and The Riverina.

Having worked closely with the Department of Education as a teen and adolescent clinician this is an area I have a breadth of experience in. My aim is to support teenagers struggling with such issues and to improve their resilience and quality of life, as well as supporting parents who may be going through their own difficulties.

Being able to further assist with families also is important to me, and sometimes issues arise with difficulties between parents and their children. Here I am to use reflective parenting in assisting both parties to better communicate but furthermore continue to understand and appreciate one another once therapy has ceased.

Teenagers in regional areas are more prone to increased mental health issues, with lack of specialised supports.

This is why it is imperative to find a therapist who your child no only gets on with, but is able to do good therapy with ongoing to address any issues that may arise.
